Two-Dimensional URANS Numerical Investigation of Critical Parameters on a Pitch Oscillating VAWT Airfoil under Dynamic Stall

In this paper, a thorough 2D unsteady computational fluid dynamic analysis was performed on pitching airfoil to properly comprehend the stall and aerodynamic forces. The software ANSYS Fluent used solve Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations. Low Reynolds number flows were modeled using k-ω shear stress transport turbulence model. Aerodynamic forces, flow structures, separation delay angles explored as function of number, reduced frequency, oscillation amplitude, mean angle attack. maximum including lift, drag, onset stall, all influenced by these variables. critical parameters that optimum forces ended up causing amplitude raised 9° 6°, respectively, large increment in lift coefficient also noted both cases. Additionally, for highest considerable rise 20% 28% drop drag observed, with 1.5° angle. Furthermore, significant increase 33% force seen 4.5° case frequency.
